For a second master's degree.
Why, you may ask, did I do this crazy thing? Well, I was bored.
I know, I know. I'm like Ally Sheedy in The Breakfast Club. I'm showing up for Saturday detention just because I don't have anything better to do.
But I'm truly excited about it!
The degree will be a master's in Human Resources. And I think my desire to organize things and my genuine love for order and people will make me a good fit for this category.
My first class in called Human Capital Development. So far it is mostly about working online and working as a team online. It looks like they are easing us gently into an all online program. Believe me, I don't mind the adjustment time! I may have only been out of school for a couple of years, but I feel like my brain turned to mush rapidly in that time period!
But the fine folks at Walden University and I are going to work together to change all that. They are going to craft me into one fine piece of Human Resources machinery. So that one day – if I work hard enough – I can be one of these guys!
The Bobs from Office Space!
Then I can sit people in front of me, tell them that I celebrate the entire Michael Bolton catalog, and then let them know that we've "fixed the glitch" and they're not gonna work here anymore! Cuz that's what Human Resources is, right?
Right?
You get 5,000 cool points for working a Breakfast Club reference and an Office Space reference into the same post. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteAnd congrats on this new chapter. (When you get your new master's, can I have your old one?)
xoxo,
Lia
Haha! Lia, I really, REALLY wish we had worked in this office at the same time! I can tell we would have gotten on like gangbusters!
ReplyDeleteYep! You can totally have my MBA. I'm not doing anything with it anyway. Lia Tremblay, MBA... it rhymes! Love it.
