Feeling a little better now...

I slept the sleep of the dead last night. Seriously, not one vampire on True Blood could match me when it came to passing out dead asleep last night. The sun wasn't even down yet and here I am:

I must've needed it; I didn't open my eye for anything until 7 a.m. this morning!

But it was so poorly timed. My textbook FINALLY came last night. I'm four days behind now and I needed to be reading. Grrr...

But I think all the pressure from trying to get a brand new magazine written (more on that at a later date, y'all!) and falling back into the swing of things with school has just gotten to me... Like the crappy laptop I've had for too many years, I just crashed.

But that's OK! I woke up this morning refreshed, re-booted and ready to roll! Just let me make it through these next few days and then I'm going to do something I have done in years...

I'm on vacation, baby! A week with my family! I'm dipping my toes in the lake. I'm grilling out. I'm taking it EASY!

Yeah, yeah... There's still homework to do. But the point is, I'm relaxing. I can't wait!!!

Glutton For Punishment

So, I've gone back to school.

For a second master's degree.

Why, you may ask, did I do this crazy thing? Well, I was bored.
I know, I know. I'm like Ally Sheedy in The Breakfast Club. I'm showing up for Saturday detention just because I don't have anything better to do.

But I'm truly excited about it!

The degree will be a master's in Human Resources. And I think my desire to organize things and my genuine love for order and people will make me a good fit for this category.

My first class in called Human Capital Development. So far it is mostly about working online and working as a team online. It looks like they are easing us gently into an all online program. Believe me, I don't mind the adjustment time! I may have only been out of school for a couple of years, but I feel like my brain turned to mush rapidly in that time period!

But the fine folks at Walden University and I are going to work together to change all that. They are going to craft me into one fine piece of Human Resources machinery. So that one day – if I work hard enough – I can be one of these guys!

The Bobs from Office Space!

Then I can sit people in front of me, tell them that I celebrate the entire Michael Bolton catalog, and then let them know that we've "fixed the glitch" and they're not gonna work here anymore! Cuz that's what Human Resources is, right?

Right?
